Hello Family and Friends of The Arc Caddo-Bossier! It's been a big month here. We're gearing up for the Leadership Luncheon with keynote speaker Dani Bowman, celebrated our largest graduating class ever, and are getting ready to row and run at the GREAT 5K & Paddlefest. We also said a bittersweet goodbye to a kitchen legend after 30 years. Here's what's been happening. The Arc Caddo-Bossier's annual Leadership Luncheon celebrates civic leaders, donors, and our mission of building unlimited opportunities for people with disabilities. This year's keynote speaker, Dani Bowman, champions that same mission through her advocacy for inclusion. Diagnosed with autism at age three and nonverbal until six, Dani found her voice through animation. At 14, she founded DaniMation, a social enterprise teaching animation and creating career pathways for neurodivergent youth and young adults, reaching over 3,500 students to date. Purchase Your Seat Here Introducing Emily With more than seven years of experience in nonprofit communications, fundraising, outreach, and community engagement, Emily brings a track record of building meaningful relationships and advancing mission-driven organizations. She is deeply passionate about connecting people with causes that create meaningful change for communities in need. We can’t wait to see how Emily helps us accomplish our mission. Join us for The Arc Caddo-Bossier’s Biennial GREAT 5K & Paddlefest! Saturday, October 3, 2026 at Fox Creek Farms, 11958 Ellerbe Road. Live music, a post-race party, drinks, and food from Ki’ Mexico. 5K starts at 8:00 AM, Paddlefest at 9:15 AM. $35 for the 5K or Paddlefest alone, $50 for both, $15 for the Post Race Party (free with 5K/Paddlefest registration). Register before September 19 for the best price. Everyone gets a Paddlefest t-shirt. FUNdamental Pediatric Therapy has officially opened an on-site clinic at our Goldman School and Child Development Center location at The Highland Center. We're grateful for this partnership and excited for our students and families. Thank You for Being a Friend Last Friday was bittersweet in the James Conly Center kitchen. After 30 years, Monika Williams served her last lunch, a fried fish sandwich, for our Conly Day Program and Frost Industries workers. For three decades she showed up every day with care, consistency, and love. (And a lot of us still miss those cakes she used to sell!) We're excited to welcome Marie Thomas into the kitchen next.
