Frost Industries, located at the James Conly Center, is the Employment Division of The Arc Caddo-Bossier.

Currently, 109 workers with disabilities participate in employment through Frost Industries, with The Arc Caddo-Bossier providing employment services to them daily.

Located at 5320 Greenwood Road, Frost Industries used to be the old Beaird-Poulan Plant; the land was donated to The Arc Caddo-Bossier from Mr. James Conly.

Linen Services

The Arc Caddo-Bossier’s Frost Industries Linen Services proudly serves private companies and federal contracts such as Barksdale Air Force Base, Fort Johnson Army Installation, Willis Knighton Health Systems, the Louisiana War Veterans Home, Orthopedic Specialists of Shreveport-Bossier.

The facility processes between 500,000+ pounds of linen each year.

Our linen workspace is equipped with industrial-grade machines, including 250-pound washing machines, 275-pound washers, a 600-pound pocket washer set on 12 inches of concrete, 150-pound dryers, and a variety of other large-scale cleaning and folding equipment.

Custodial/Janitorial

The Frost Industries custodial and janitorial team provides services at multiple locations throughout the Shreveport-Bossier area. Each week, Frost workers maintain over 85 buildings, totaling more than 850,000 square feet, at Barksdale Air Force Base.

Since 2008, workers with disabilities have been responsible for cleaning all 10 floors of the Office of State Buildings in Shreveport during daytime hours.

Mail Contracts

Frost Industries provides mail sorting services at Barksdale Air Force Base, creating employment opportunities for people with disabilities. Two of our employees operate contract-furnished mail vans, delivering mail and packages across the base. Our team processes incoming USPS mail, sorts it by squadron, and handles the daily pickup, delivery, and processing of outgoing official mail.

Since 1986, the Postal Service Center with Frost employees has provided mail services to Airmen living in the dormitories, processing approximately 100,000 pieces of mail each year.

In 2009, Frost Industries was honored to receive its second mail center contract—the Official Mail Center—where our team provides official mail services to approximately 36 mailrooms located in buildings across the base, processing around 60,000 pieces of mail annually.

The Arc Caddo-Bossier and its workers hold Secret Facility Clearance, allowing us to handle classified mail as needed.

Production/Packaging

Frost Industries is proud to partner with Neal Chandler, owner of Creative Form Packaging, based in Shreveport.

Since the partnership began three years ago, Frost has employed over 60 workers with disabilities in our packaging department. Some of the packaging contracts we have fulfilled include:

JB Weld – 5-piece tip packaging
E6000 Sidekick Displays – Craft adhesive products featured on end-cap displays at Home Depot and Michaels
Universal Weed Eater Head Replacements – Packaging and sealing four different types of weed eater replacement heads using an industrial sealer, available at Lowe’s hardware stores
Cintas – Sorting and processing hangers by separating usable ones from damaged ones, with pickup and delivery services provided by Frost

Through these partnerships, Frost Industries continues to create meaningful employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities.

Landscaping

Frost Industries proudly provides professional landscaping services while creating meaningful employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities. Our landscaping team is dedicated to maintaining well-kept, visually appealing outdoor spaces while gaining valuable job skills and experience.

Currently, Frost Industries employs at least three individuals with disabilities as part of our landscaping team, ensuring they receive hands-on training and steady employment in grounds maintenance.

Service Locations Include:

North Caddo Parish Parks – Keeping local parks clean, safe, and well-manicured for the community to enjoy.
Greenwood/Waskom Weigh Stations – Maintaining the grounds around these vital transportation checkpoints, ensuring a professional and welcoming appearance.

People seeking employment can call Frost Industries at (318) 631-9501. Sometimes people are referred by a word-of-mouth or from some of our referral partners (Case management, Louisiana Association for the Blind, Goodwill Industries, etc.)
There are two ways Frost determines job placement. At the interview, managers discuss openings that are currently available within The Arc Caddo-Bossier’s currently held contracts/opportunities. If there is interest and vacancy (contract hours), managers will discuss next steps for job training opportunities and potential placement. If there is not any interest in what Frost Industries has to offer, managers can refer the person to many of its referral partners.
